If your knife seems to open a little slow or doesn't have that CLICK you think it should have, here's a suggestion. Most knives when new need a little work to get them going to their fullest potential due to sitting through storage, shipping, etc...and some are even stored in heavy oil which can really slow them down. The following is maintenance you should do on ANY knives you own. New or old. Just flush them thoroughly with WD-40 cleaning them out well. Tap them against your hand removing all WD-40 and any access oil, lint, debres, etc... You may want to repeat this process two or three times depending on how much oil, etc...was in the knife. Once good and dry, use a little silicone based lube such as QuickRelase, Tuff Glide or steel lube. NOT OIL. Never use oil on them because that collects dust. It's great for storing knives in a wrapped environment for long term but not out there for every day use. A lot of knives come preoiled and you want to get that out of there before pocket carry or displaying it where it will collect dust. You can buy the Tuff Glide or steel lube at about any knive/gun store and we'll soon be carrying Quick Release here on this site or you can purchase it on line. While some switchblade knife collectors might prefer the work of one maker over the other our experience after handling thousands of Italian switchblade knives is that all makers have variances in the consistency of their work. This is an accepted idiocincrisy of Italian switchblades by knife collectors. Italian switchblade knives are intended more as curios, novelties and mesmerizing mechanical gadgets with an edge than for everyday use. While some people do use the swithblades for their E.D.C. (every day carry) most agree they are impractical and come up short as a usable utility knife unless your every day tasks include opening mail, testing watermelons or retreiving the last olive from one of those long thin jars. Italian switchblade knives are what they are,......cool, collectible gadgets that can be very adictive. The "walk and talk" of the Classic Italian Switchblade is something few other knives have ever been able to duplicate. There is a certain "music" in the clikity clack of the knifes mechanism when deployed that is just plain cool to most guys.

SECRET: Women don't understand this male facination with edgy gadgetry and look at us like we're daffed tilting their heads at us like a dog watching TV. There IS an explaination that most ladies seem to understand, believe it or not. It has to be offered delicately with the same considerations you apply to their facinations. Here is the secret of explaining, and justifying to someone of the female persuasion, a mans joy with an item that's a cool, unique mechanical gadget, difficult to come by in your everyday travels and fairly unnessesary .

First,..put on your best "I love you so much", look,... put your arm around her shoulder and gaze whispfully into her eyes, then ask her, "Honey,.... you know the feeling when you come across that awesome pair of new shoes? Even though you already have 47 pairs of new shoes in the closet that you've only worn once, you just have to have them. Well then,...you understand then that when you see that certain killer pair of shoes, even if they are expensive and we can't really afford them right now, you (we) just have to have them? Well that's kinda the warm fuzzy we guys feel about gadgets and cool tools. OK,...So why are we men so drawn to owning these fairly useless, but very cool, little Italian Switchblade gadgets, you ask yourself? Well,.....remember the feeling you got with that awesome pair of new shoes that draws you to to them like a hungry fat man at Krispy Cream?? OK,...imagine this and you'll understand,........THERE IS A PURSE THAT MATCHES THE SHOES!!!!! It's like that babe."
